3rd year students, under the coordination of Dr. Öğrt. Üyesi Hatice DARGA, carried out voluntary practices in preschool classes with the children of families who came from the earthquake region and were hosted in Bucak. In the period of March – April 2023, a total of five weeks, two half days a week, four students in Bucak participated in the voluntary work.
The practices were carried out in the preschool classes opened by the Directorate of National Education and the Mufti's Office in the student dormitory of the Credit Dormitories Institution, where the families were hosted. Three students (İrem ÇATALBAŞ, Eda EROĞLU, Emine ŞENÖZ) participated in the practice by being included in the teaching in two preschool classes.
The students also communicated with the families of the children, sharing the reflections of the earthquake's effects on the children's behaviors with the families and exchanging information. The practices ended upon the families returning to their regions and the classes being vacated.
Preschool teachers and families expressed their satisfaction with the support of the students and thanked them.
One student (Nurselin ERYİĞİT) carried out her voluntary practice at Bucak Atatürk Kindergarten between March and June 2023 for a total of 11 weeks. This student carried out her practice in two different classes. The student, who participated in the teaching in the class attended by Syrian children, continued her practice until the end of the term.
At the end of the practice, the students added the reference letter documenting their voluntary work to their resume files by obtaining it from the Bucak Directorate of National Education.
